What is it: A webcomic themed around a software company. Lots of funny insights about not only the technical side of bug-bashing but also about strategies for office survival in all it’s facets. From time to time it takes a swing at the blogging culture and conferences and such so there should be a lot of fun in there even for non-techies :)

Not from RSS feeds, dummy! Repetitive Stress Syndrome!

What is it: Workrave is a free tool that reminds you to take micro breaks and rest breaks for relaxing your hands, fingers, wrists, eyes, shoulders…. from time to time. Intervals are totally adjustable so you can customize your rest times. If you do not take a specified break in the specified interval you get a reminder. If you do, nothing disturbs you. My personal settings: a 5-min rest break each hour and 10 sec. quiet inside 10 Minutes. Works well for me.

It also records statistics like mouse distance, effective mouse distance and keystroke count. I’ve had it running on a hardened system for about a year or so and it never tried to phone home, so privacy seems guaranteed.

It’s availabe for Linux and Windows (Source Code available so Mac users can try to build it, too) so go there and help yourself stay well ;)
